Because horses should be fun.
At Blue Bandida, we focus on what brought us into the horse world from the start: having fun. Any trainer can take you to the show ring, but we make sure the journey is one that is enjoyable for both you and your horse. We provide lessons to any and all who are interested in riding, and have extensive experience in all riding styles. Our western riding includes reining, ranch riding, cutting, and cow work. English includes equitation, dressage, and jumping. We even offer lessons in side saddle, trail riding, and obstacles. Our lesson horses are safe, friendly, and versatile, and are also our own personal show horses. Our goal is to ensure that every client gets exactly what they want out of our program, so each individual lesson is tailored to their own personal interests.
Our Team
Andrea

Andrea has been working with horses her entire life. She got her first horse at the age of four, and has been passionate about it ever since. She has studied with and learned from trainers all across the country, developing her skills and abilities, and nothing makes her more happy than helping people accomplish their horse related goals and dreams.
David

David was introduced to horses when he met Andrea. His family worked ranches in Mexico for generations, and he is a natural when it comes to training and understanding horses.
Clyde

Clyde is our Texas Star. He is a truly rare Leopard Iberian, and a master at any task. Trained through 3rd level dressage and able to jump +1m, he has a can-do attitude, and thoroughly enjoys helping our advanced students gain confidence and grasp their handling of higher level routines.
Cash

Cash is our main man, and a client favorite. After years of successful competition on the show circuit, he is now enjoying teaching our students how to ride and feel comfortable in the saddle. From gymkhana to ranch sorting (and even the rare english equitation endeavor) , this guy knows the routine, and loves teaching our students how to reach their goals with him.
Talyn

Talyn is the eptiome of the Blue Bandida success story. This gorgeous little guy was bought untrained, and through the talents of David and Andrea brought along to be the superstar is he now. He literally does it all, following in the large hoof prints of Clyde. We look forward to seeing this star shine, both in the show circuit and our personal lives.
Our Services
Our lessons are one hour in the saddle. You are more than welcome to arrive before the lesson to help groom and tack up your horse for the day, but we want to make sure that you get the ride time and experience that you pay for, so we don’t start the clock until you are actually on the horse. We are here to ensure that you make progress in your equine pursuits, and we don’t want time limits to interfere with that. Additionally, we offer video recordings for those who are interested, so that they can see exactly what they are doing during the lessons (we’ve found this to be helpful to many of our clients).
Horseback Riding Evaluation ($50)
During this session, we will meet with the student to discuss their interests, abilities, comfort level, and goals. We will develop a plan and match them with one of our horses to ensure that they acquire the necessary skills, confidence, and competence to meet the desired outcome safely and enjoyably.
Horse Training Evaluation ($75)
We will meet with the client and their horse to discuss the goals and any issues in place. We will explore the abilities of the horse and the intentions of the owner, and develop a plan to ensure that the process and end result is acceptable and enjoyable for both.
Beginning Riding ($100/hour)
These sessions teach the skills to ride correctly, comfortably, and safely. The student will learn proper seat and leg position, how to use the reins, and how to control the horse from the saddle.
Intermediate Riding ($100/hour)
These sessions will cover more advanced riding techniques, including speed control, yielding the fore and hindquarters, and navigating obstacles.
Advanced Riding ($150/hour)
These intensive classes include cow work, roping, jumping, and higher level maneuvers such as flying lead changes and the sliding stop.
Groundwork ($75/hour)
These lessons will teach the student how to get the horse to move from the ground. They explore the “how” and “why” of horse behavior, and are an excellent idea for those interested in training or working with horses.
Horse Care (included w/lessons)
These lessons teach the student all of the necessary skills to care for their own horse. Topics covered include nutrition, grooming, bathing, hooves, non-emergency vet care, and exercise.
Horse Training (TBD)
These sessions will be designed as needed, per horse and owner.
